Our Family

hello (2).png

June Caldwell, Ed.S.

Owner/Director

As an educator and a mother, myself, I am aware how much every parent wants the caring, loving, and nurturing environment for their children, especially when it comes to leaving their babies at a childcare facility.  I have worked in the public education system since 2004. I attended Mississippi State University where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counselor Education. I attended William Carey University where I earned a Master's endorsement in School Psychometry.  I also earned an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from NorthCentral University.  I have 10 years experience as a school counselor where I worked with kiddos from PreK to 8th grade.  I addressed each individual's academic, personal/social and career readiness goals and/or concerns.  I also worked as a school psychometrist for 5 years, where I evaluated kiddos turning 3 up through high school for gifted and/or special education services.  I realize the world of childcare and education is constantly evolving, so I am always attempting to learn something new to better myself and ultimately to provide better education services to the children in my care.

I am a Mississippi State Bulldog graduate where I pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics.  So you are asking yourself, "Why a Daycare?"  While pursuing my degree, I thought working at daycare would be something fulfilling & fun I could do.  I worked there for three years and fell in love with all of the kids. So much so, that I have 5 of my own.  It's kind of easy to light up the kids faces because I am nothing but a 6'2" kid.  I look forward to welcoming your family to ours!

Assistant Director

I have been working with children for over thirty-three years.  I’m married and we have three beautiful daughters and a three-year-old granddaughter.  Before Kiddie University, I had my own child care center in my home.  I have worked with children of varies ages, ranging from 6 weeks to 17.  I’ve also worked with children with special needs and various levels of learning disabilities.  I went to Mott Community College in Flint Michigan for Early Childhood Education.  I plan on furthering my education in the childcare field.  I love working with children, watching them grow and blossom into successful young leaders.  In my spare time, I spend time with my family.   We love to shop, travel, and watch my youngest daughter compete in dance.

Admin Staff and Teacher Support

I graduated from Polk County High School in 2013. Since then, I have been following my passion for teaching and learning. I have been surrounded by children my entire life through younger siblings, nieces, nephews, summer camps, and Vacation Bible Schools. In working through VBS, my husband and I have taken on the challenge of working with the youth, coordinating fall festivals, egg hunts, and service learning at our church. For the past three years, I have been working with infants and have found a passion for helping families and leading them to resources. This sparked a love of humanity and inspired me to further my education. I am currently finishing an Associate of Science from Cleveland State Community College and will transfer to finish out my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work at Liberty University in August. I love all things involving coffee, wearing bows in my hair, and spending time with my husband and 2-year-old son, Judah. I cannot wait to love and nurture your little dreamer's mind, and be a helpmate to your family!

Admin Staff and Student Support

I am a graduate of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where I got my bachelors degree in psychology. I am also a mother to a beautiful 3 year old boy. I grew up in Birchwood, Tn and moved away to North Georgia for high school and my first two years of college. After getting married, graduating from college and starting our family, we decided that coming back to Birchwood would be best for our family. So, we bought the house that my grandparents built, where I spent many of my days growing up. I have had a passion for working alongside children for as long as I can remember. For the past nine years I have worked in several settings with children, from volunteering in public high school classrooms to early learning centers. I also have experience and a deep passion for working with children with intellectual disabilities. My favorite things to do with children in the classroom are exploring the 5 senses, making creative art and open ended play activities. My next professional/educational goal is to attend graduate school for School Psychology in late 2023. Outside of work and school I like spending time with my family/extended family, spending time anywhere outside, taking on new sewing projects, and reading. I am very excited to become a part of the Kiddie University family and for the opportunity to be involved in your childrens’ lives!

Sandee Kidd, M.Ed.

PreK Lead Teacher/The Scholars

I began my teaching career in Cleveland after graduating from Lee University where I earned my bachelors degree in Early Childhood, Elementary and Special Education. Afterwards I moved to Oklahoma to pursue my Master's degree in Elementary and Special Education. Later, I took a teaching position in North Carolina where I taught for 26 years. While in NC, I adopted two beautiful girls in 2005 and 2007. Makayla and Molly are now 13 and 15 and the light of my life. We moved back to Cleveland in 2017 to help with my elderly mother. Last year I taught Pre-K and decided this is what I want to do at this time in my life. As a teacher, I strive to help little ones develop confidence, values and I hope to inspire creativity. Children teach me every day to keep my mind and heart open to all I am continuing to learn. I will never give them anything less than my best as I challenge them to be all the can be.

Ashley Cox

PreK Lead Teacher/The Leaders

Hi, my name is Ashley Cox. I grew up in the small town of Dayton TN. I was given an opportunity in the 7th grade to be a teacher's assistant in my middle school for a kindergarten classroom. At first it was simple things such as grading or helping clean up but as time passed even on into my 8th grade year she allowed me to help out more and this is where it all began! I even went back to the same school and teacher for job shadowing my junior/senior years of high school. I was hooked. I knew then my passion for teaching was deep, watching them understand and learn new things gives me pure joy. I evenutally attended college for Early Childhood Education but had to cut that short due to having my own Beautiful Daughter, who is now 6! I had to take a different life path to provide for her. Now at the young age of 27 I have been given the chance to finally fulfill my dream of being a Teacher through Kiddie University. I could not be more excited for this opportunity. I look forward to meeting and working with all of your children!

Lead Teacher/The Researchers

I am excited and honored to be joining Kiddie University and spending time with your precious children. I am a Gigi to two beautiful granddaughters and I have two grandsons on the way. I retired from teaching after 32 years and have decided that I cannot be idle.  I truly believe that the best way to help shape our world in a positive way is to begin with young minds. I enjoy watching children succeed in learning new things and watching their eyes light up as they do.  I love children and will make it my top priority to teach and care for your children as if they were my own.  I can’t wait to begin this next chapter of my life here at Kiddie University.
